Nowadays, we all know that education has become commercialized. Only a few institutions that provide education for their own benefit are left. Charging high fees, schools, colleges and institutes have sprung up like a raging fire with thousands of defects. In this era, education is becoming a dream for poor children. In such difficult and difficult times, the Mango People family has lit the lamp of education to impart knowledge and culture to the children of the slums and slum areas of Rajkot and Jamnagar. In different areas like Gondal Road, Raiyadahar, Lalpari Lake and Atika in Rajkot and in the slums near the Sat Rasta Exhibition Ground and Sai Baba Temple in Jamnagar, seeing children studying under the shade of low trees or in the temple premises, it seems at first glance that there must be classes going on here. But here, not classes, but free education classes of Mango People family are being run. In which children of the working class, slum areas and slums are given free knowledge and culture.
Sometimes under a tree in a slum, sometimes on the roof of a slum area or in the temple premises – or even on the footpath, a couple started imparting literacy to such children and today they are performing their duty as noble teachers. The small sapling planted by their elderly hands as a service to education is slowly becoming a big tree today.
Talking about starting this activity, Shri Manishbhai Rathod, founder and president of Mango People Family run by Nirmalraj Charitable Trust, says, “I have experienced many difficulties in life, from getting a job as a trial in Standard 10, now when I have to suffer so much if I fail a small Standard 10 exam, just think what kind of torture this world must be facing on people who are not educated at all? I have seen with my own eyes that the society also considers the poor, laborers and children from slums as insignificant. I am not financially strong. Therefore, instead of school, I started free education classes. I want to start a free school in slums to change the lives of children.
In memory of late Matrushri Nirmalaben and late Nanabhai Raj “Nirmalraj” Charitable Trust was established. In the free education classes run by Mango People family, children from slums and slum areas enjoy listening to stories. They enjoy dancing with music. Here education is not given through commercialization but through new songs and games. Along with education, guidance on cleanliness and all-round development is also being given continuously. Started with 4/5 children. Today more than 250 children from slums and slum areas have been coming to Mango People family’s education classes.
Here, children from slums and slum areas have been bathing every day, regularly cutting their nails and wearing clean clothes. The child who has never gone to school today speaks A, B, C and ABCD. Does addition and subtraction.
Here, children are periodically organized into many activities like painting competition, best from vest, dance, garba decoration, rakhi competition, kite festival, color festival, rangoli competition. Through which the latent powers of the children can be identified and they are also encouraged by giving prizes.
Every child is also taken to a picnic twice a year. They also enjoy the fun of movies in Cosmoplex and the fun of new rides in Funworld. All these children also get the taste of delicious unlimited food in renowned hotels in the city from time to time.
The organization adopts gifted children and places them in nearby schools and the organization bears all the educational expenses of the child. Due to lack of teachers, classes in Jamnagar and Wankaner are temporarily closed. But there, free sanitary pads are distributed regularly every month to girls in slum areas.
